Political slips: Santorum's admission, Obama on Star Trek

Politically Foul

Politics is not a game exactly, but there are rules, and when you break them, you are running Politically Foul!

It seems the string of away games that is the Republican Presidential race is taking its toll on Rick Santorum's fitness?er, maybe that would be his freshness. In a bout of TMI the Presidential hopeful shared details about his months on the campaign trail, "Since that time I've been home with my family 5 days?5 days?now I've been home parts of days to do my laundry, pay bills and get clean underwear.'

Flag! Personal foul, or rather: personally foul. You do the math. It's been a long campaign season and that's not a lot of clean underwear!

Ron Paul was looking to freshen up his image this week with an email release about his recent victory: "Ron Paul Campaign Sweeps Coveted Contest?Recognizing Best Ads"

Flag! Illegal celebration! The only coveted contests in this competition are primaries, caucuses and the Republican nomination. Check the scoreboard in those games. Ron Paul: O.

Posing for a photo op with the original Lt. Uruha, Michelle Nichols (formerly of the Starship Enterprise), the Commander in Chief was all smiles as he flashed his best Vulcan salute.

Flag! Failure to maintain facemask! The President might have the logic but no Vulcan alive would be caught dead displaying such an emotional grin. Beam him up, ref.

And Finally, Ann Romney and the inappropriate self-disclosure fan bus made a stop at a Baltimore radio station this week. Mrs. Romney was asked about her husband's unyielding game face, "Do you have to fight back some criticism, like 'my husband isn't stiff, ok'?" Caught on the defensive, she laughed and responded, "Well, you know, I guess we better unzip him and let the real Mitt Romney out because he is not!"

Flag: unsportsmanlike conduct. That's one statement people will not be quick to fact check.

Those are the politically plays we flagged this week. Tell us your best and worst moments and we'll survey the field again next week.
