The family of a Columbus man murdered two years ago is asking for the community's help to solve his murder.

Nathan Francis was gunned down outside his home on South Oakley Street in West Columbus on November 27, 2010.

"It's miserable. Nothing's the same anymore. We still miss him so very much," said Nathan's mom, Darlene Francis.

Nathan's father, Chuck Francis, and Darlene say they have not given up hope that their son's murder can still be solved.

According to the couple, Nathan had left his house to get something to eat after watching the OSU vs. Michigan game when they heard gunshots. Chuck says he found his son outside their home, and held him while he took his last breath.

"That part I will never forget. And looking at my wife up in the yard screaming and my daughter. It was so violent," Chuck said.

A memorial marks the spot where Nathan died. His parents say people tear down the memorial but neighbors and family always build it back up.

"There are people out there who do know who did this to my son and they need to come forward and talk and tell what they know so they can get the killer off the streets," Darlene Francis said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS.
