It seems that only a portion of the Turtle Creek condo formerly owned by Margaret Hunt Hill is being posted for foreclosure sale.

After the item below was posted, I received the following note from a member of the building?s board of directors, which I am reprinting with his permission:

Mr. Tomaso,

I serve on the Board of Directors of 3525 Condominiums. I wish to correct your post regarding the apartment formerly owned by Margaret Hunt Hill.

Mrs. Hill owned three conjoined apartments, the B, C and D units on our 13th floor. Her estate marketed the triple unit for sale, but was unsuccessful. It was eventually sold as two separate apartments, a BC-unit combination and a D-unit.

Only the BC-unit combination is listed for foreclosure sale. The D-unit is separately owned and is occupied by the owner.

Please update your blog post to prevent the erroneous implication that the entire space owned by Mrs. Hill will be offered at a foreclosure sale.

On her CandysDirt.com, real estate writer Candace Evans reports that a condo with a famous lineage, in a landmark Turtle Creek tower, will be offered for sale this month as a Freddie Mac foreclosure.

The tower is 3525 Turtle Creek Blvd., designed by noted modernist architect Howard Meyer and built in 1957 as the first high rise along Turtle Creek. The building ? long known, Evans says, as ?The Grande Dame of Turtle Creek,? is listed as a historical site by The National Register of Historic Places and the U.S. Interior Department.

The condo that?s going on the block was owned, until 2004, by Margaret Hunt Hill, the namesake of the most famous bridge ever to host a Lyle Lovett concert.

The condo formerly known as hers was initially listed at $589,000 (later lowered to $499,000), Evans says. It?s 3,433 square feet, with two garage spaces, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen with marble countertops and cherry cabinets, walk-in closets, 24-hour security and breathtaking views of Turtle Creek and the downtown Dallas skyline.
