1) FIRST TUESDAYS ? BUILD SUPPORT WITHIN YOUR BUSINESS COMMUNITY
Would you like your library to be perceived as an asset to the local economy? Join us at the next First Tuesdays program, Building Library Support within Your Business Community, where Spokane reference librarian, Mark Pond, will share how he marketed his library?s services to the greater Spokane business community, resulting in 5 to 10 reference referrals per day to the Spokane Public Library from this enthusiastic new audience. Participants will learn how to:
- Engage with their local business community;
- Develop a sense of what works well to attract its members to the library;
- Discuss strategies to begin to build support from local businesses for their libraries.
Designed as a continuing education opportunity for staff of libraries in Washington State, this free web presentation, which will take place on February 5, 2013, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. PST, lets attendees share their skills and successes and learn about new topics. Sessions are recorded so that others may listen at their own convenience. For more information about First Tuesdays, visit www.sos.wa.gov/quicklinks/tuesdays. To join the presentation and for instructions, go to www.sos.wa.gov/quicklinks/FirstTuesdays.
